The government and people of the Arab Republic of Egypt have sent a Congratulatory Message to the Aviation Minister, Princess Stella Adaeze Oduah on the election of the first African, Nigeria's Dr Olumuyiwa Benard Aliu as the President of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).
In the Congratulatory Message conveyed through Nigeria's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of Civil Aviation of the Arab Republic of Egypt, H.E. Abdel Aziz Fadel said the election of Dr Aliu '' is a real reflection of the hard and unified work between and amongst all African countries''.
''I wish to extend to you my sincere congratulations on the the election of Dr. Olumuyiwa Benard Aliu as the new President of the ICAO Council, which is a real reflection of the hard and unified work between all African countries'', Fadel said, adding:
''The election of Dr. Aliu is considered a real success to Nigeria and to our African continent. We believe Aliu will be a great support for attaining the goals and achievements needed for the welfare and growth of civil aviation both regionally and globally''.
The Egyptian Minister further invited Oduah to his country ''to discuss the recent development and challenges facing the air transport industry in Africa'', and expressed the hope that bilateral relations between the two countries would continue to grow and blossom.
