The Nigerian Aviation Professionals Association (NAPA) has lauded the Aviation Sector Master Plan and Implementation Road Map, saying that the Minister of Aviation, Princess Stella Oduah, should be allowed to continue in office to take the process to an irreversible level.
NAPA in a statement issued by its general secretary, Comrade Abdulrasak Saidu, said the master plan is capable of transforming Nigeria’s economic sector, adding that it should be encouraged.
Effective implementation of the master plan is expected to result in increase in the contribution of the sector to over N110 billion to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), in the next few years.
Apart from increase in the contribution of aviation sector to the nation’s economy, the master plan will also set aside more revenue for the development of the sector that would be geared towards human capacity development, investment in infrastructure and the welfare of industry workers .
Speaking at an “ Aviation Workers Buy-In “ into the master plan forum in Lagos , Minister of Aviation , Princess Stella Oduah, said the plan has inherent benefits for aviation workers who are expected to drive its implementation .
The forum was attended by workers of Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Nigerian College of Aviation Technology ( NCAT), the Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB) and others.
